Well after her sunfire lease was up it didnt take much coaxing to get her into a 3. Hers is a blue 05 3i, mine is an 04 5door S. Now we are wanna those dork couples that have the same car lol.

I actually like that, having practically the same car...since you're around both, which do you prefer? Hatch or sedan? I know you're probably biased though :)

well hers isnt the S, but the motor is really about the same in the city, you know the difference when you are on the onramp as the high end of the 2.3 is so much better but around town, the 3i is quiter, the 16" wheels are alot softer and i wish my S had 16s instead of the 17s as mine jar the hell out of me on these horid toledo roads. As for hatch vs sedan, I feel cooler in the sedan, as hatches are only cool to people that like hatches or owned one, the hatch carries more goods, i like it better. For example i went to sears and bought a huge treadmill, i scooted up my seat, put the back seats down, and got this HUGE box in my car (barely), I would never have been able to do that in the 4 door. In a wierd way, the 5 door is my truck.

Oh one more funny fact. She wont drive my car and she loves hers. She says she cant see out the back because its a flat piece of glass not at an agle, but when i had a 3i rental she loved it so we ended up test driving many cars and ended up with the 3i ( we wanted the 6i but couldnt really afford it). I had originally bought my 5 door under the impression she would be driving too, so now im stuck with the automatic when i wanted the 5 speed, argh.

she test drove a focus, and the new ones feel like junk just lock the doors and listen to them lock, she drove a ion 4 door and that car is the biggest piece of you know what i have ever driven (cant see out of it, feels like your driving alot bigger car, cheap materials, center speedo, bad mid console design as my knee is jammed into it to hit gas etc) so after that she drove the 3 and it was quite easy.

I am kinda in the same situation....me and my dad both drive 4 door 3's. Mine is an S his is an i. The story is, he actually bought me the red 3i for my 18th bday but took it away the same day cuz i got two tattoos for my 18th bday. So i bought my white 3s in december and love it way more.....

modz...Hmmm, well my last car was a 2000 mustang, so I dont really plan on modding mine as (to me) its pointless to mod something this slow in a straight line. Ideally id like 100 or so more lb feet of torque at 2000 rpm but it aint gonna happen :-) so im happy with what i have and drive a LONG way to college (18k a year) so I need this car dependable. After im out of college I may get me a blue 67 fastback mustang with white stripes to sit in my garage as my fun car, and that way i wont have to compete with the newest models hitting the floor every day. I love the 3, but no real mods soon :-)

yeah i may end up buying a winter set of rims and tires from tirerack or the dealer, car would look like crap after i put steel wheels on it but oh well, its only for the winter (oct-april) lol

That really cool that you have the same cars...almost...Im trying to convince my wife she needs to buy and RX-8..She likes it but cant justify to herself to spend the money on it

lol, i wanted an rx8 too, its just 7k too expensive. I did talk the dealer into letting me give utter hell to an rx8 for buying 2 mazda 3s from him.
