yea, got the controller all setup and im boosting at .05bars... now, i want to go to .1 bars...

so, i turn the nob clockwise to add boost and my car stalls like crazy after .05 bars... i can't boost any more...

k, wat do i need to do to make it boost higher? plz don't flame, i'm jus like u guys... i own a msp and i want to go faster... ok? thx alot!

also...

i did connect it backwards the first time, i didn't have negative pressure when i turned on the car at first so i switched things around and it runs good... so i know its not backwards...

1 good thing though... my turbo spools sooooo much louder now and my lag literally went away... i like it like that, i jus want a little more power... 8-10 psi... thats all...

turn the controller slowly, it can be alot and your overspooling and don't realize it. good luck to you. just go back to the way it was and tigjhten it a quarter turn till you get where you want. hope that helps.

ah, so bigger injectors??? right?...

ima leave the controller on the car, i love how it spools faster wit no lag... i think it picked up atleast 1 or 2 psi... i feel a small difference...

my BOV pops louder now, thats why i'm saying it picked up 1 or 2 psi...

hell, my gauge might be broke lol... nah, but the nob is turned in a little so its not really over boosting...

i did that already...

the controller is open a little, its not completely off... so it boosting a little extra than stock...

No boost gauge? How can you throw a boost controller on w/o having a boost gauge? That wouldn't be too smart especially w/ these engines. Please say you have one and if you don't get one now.

i have the gauge... its has .05 bars... which is 6psi... its boosting a little bit more though, it goes over a little over .05 bars...

Be careful, I thought 1 bar is equal to 15 psi. I may be wrong though. I would suggest you start going with bolt ons first before increasing the boost.

yea, i jus figured that out... i want in between... like .07 bars... i was told this on another board so i'm glad i didn't crank that thing high in the first place...

k, ima see if i can switch a few things around and i'll yall know wat happens... im seeing if i put my controller in the wrong Tee hole... so ima see wat happens if i put it on a different hose going to the same Tee hole...

Dude one bar is equal to 14.7 psi

If he was boosting 14 psi, he would have been like WAHOO!!! What a difference that made... then a few hours later, he would have started a new thread like "My motor has a major oil leak and it won't run... now what do I do?"

No offence, but it sounds like you need to learn a bit more about turbo cars in general as well as specifics about the MSP before you play with the boost pressure any more. Especially in the cold weather in the winter months.

IMO, you should remove the MBC, and start studying. Read posts on this forum concerning the MSP. Go buy and read Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. It is in your best interest to learn as much as possible, as if you do things wrong you will end up with a very large repair bill.

Simply slapping on a boost controller is a definite no-no in this car. What other mods do you have?

i was jus curious on how it would feel like to have one on... now i know i need to remove a few things to slap the mbc on... thx for the help folks! :)

You mean .5bar right? If you boosted .05bar then you have the most amazing boost controller in the world.

no... it literally says -.05, 0, .05, .1, .5, etc etc... thats wat my gauge says...

the negative .05 is while its idling... or when its not on a heavy load...

ok i'm surprised nobody said anything about your future plans(regarding AFC's or EMS) with all the mods and what not.... IMO, order of importance with these cars would be:

Exhaust
Upgrade IC
AFC or some form of EMS

At least these 3 before you up the boost, and of course there's intake, gauges, etc... in there before upping boost but, definately eliminate cats or get hiflow with at least 2.5 inch piping. you need to open up the flow of your exhaust before upping boost. just putting catback isn't going to do that.... good luck with your project and BE CAREFUL!!!

I have long since given up on warning people about toying with boost:)

It's like you tell your child; no Timmy, don't touch that huge pot full of boiling water, you might burn yourself... No Timmy, plese don't touch that pot, it is going to burn you... No timmy, that pot is really hot... Inevitably Timmy gets burned and then cries to anyone he can find because he believes that it's the pot's fault that he got burned.

But seriously, these motors will blow if you keep toying with the boost and not supporting it.
