Mazdaspeed worth it?

Is the performance of the speed really all its made out to be? I mean are you really happy with the performance after the first couple of months. Have not had the opportunity to drive one. Thought the p5 was peppy. Is there really that much of a difference? Will they hold any value now that they are no more?

no more? a dealer near me has like 6 or 7 of them left cause they are still charging 1 arm + 2 legs + 1/2 your firstborn son

I am not quite sure how to answer this.

Is it faster than a P5 ?YES!

Is the performance all it's made out to be? Hmmmm Do you mean is it a EVO or STi or even a WRX? NOPE. But is it an excellent handling car with enough speed to satify most daily drivers who aren't streetracing jackasses? YES

Value? It's a car! If you want something to HOLD VALUE go try driving a Money Market account around.

This thread is gonna become one of those meandering
Person A: "Well I think....."
Person B "You are an idiot shut up ***"
Person A: "....."
Person C: "I Raced a WRX BLAh BlaH Blah"
Person B: "I know everything about cars EVER"

Well a car that slaloms faster than a Ferrari Modena and pulls about .90g on the skidpad with stock rubber AND was proclaimed as better than a ITR in handling. What do you think?
And all for $16-18K these days...what else do you want?

Who cares about resale??...all these new performance 4 door sedans dont have great resale..EVO's are already going for $21K used.

To me enjoying the ride is priceless IMHO.

if you feel you need a bit more speed I suggest you invest in a turbokit, you'll be blowing past msp's in no time flat

Where are you north of Atlanta? I may come by and give you a ride. If you want.

what about the handling?? there msp>turbo mp5

Yes MSP>Turbo P5 as far as handling goes. P5's handle really well but read the post about ithe MSP's skid pad and slalom results. The MSP is THAT good. It's not just owners being egotistical braggarts. It's just that good.

You could always put all the MSP parts on a P5 if you wanted.

Thanks for all of the responses. I will agree that it is probably a very quick and fun car. i am planning on the meet at D&B's in february. Maybe i can get a ride from someone there if i dont stop by the dealership in Marietta first. Maybe someone has dealt with a local dealer and have any suggestions. As for resale, screw it, i will just buy what i want and not worry about it

I'm right down by Cumberland Mall if you wanna see one sooner than the meet. Just let me know.

Hey if you go to Jim Ellis try to deal with Gerry Patsch. He's a helluva nice guy and sold me my last 2 cars.

Only if you want a car that handles like no other FWD car, looks like a high-end european saloon, is reasonably quick in a straight line and has a price tag under 20k.
