MazdaSpeed Protege
Here is actual proof that the brakes of an 06-07 MazdaSpeed 6 Do Fit our MazdaSpeed Proteges and any 5 bolt Protege, Protege 5. I will say that all of the AutoParts Stores claim to have the correct calipers and brackets for MazdaSpeed 6. I can assure you that they are all wrong.(RockAutoParts, O'reilly's AutoParts, AutoZone AutoParts, and Advance AutoParts to name a few). Stay away from these part #'s by A1 Cardone 18-B5000,18-B5001,18-B5002,18-B5003,16-5000,16-5001,16-5002,16-5003. All of these are WRONG

Parts needed for both front and back install will require Front and Rear Calipers with Brackets, Rotors and E-brake Cables from an 06-07 MazdaSpeed 6. You can use OEM Mazdaspeed Protege brake hoses or Braided brake hoses on 03 and 03.5 MazdaSpeed Protege.

Size of rotors are listed:
front: 12.58 in/320mm
rear: 12.35 in/314mm

Will they fit under the stock MSP wheels? I would like to assume so but not sure.

Edit: Want to give a general price list alone with part numbers for the DIYers? What about the ABS sensors? Can you reuse the stockers?

yes they will work with stock msp wheel's you cant use anything smaller then a 17" rim with the ms6 brake conversion.

so the rears work??? This is the very first time I've heard of the rears working!!!!! Great job. and good looking out!!!!!!!!
Any chance you can post the part numbers that do work?? Did you have to get it all from the Dealer?

so far it seems that the mazdaspeed6 calipers and brackets are dealer item only.or junk yard.but im working on finding them aftermarket and ive also heard the cx9 calipers are bassiclly the same except they are 2 piston front calipers and the rear rotors are vented in the middle which both differences are better so if it works then im going to use the cx9 set up for my brake kit and also offer the reg mazda6 brakes as a option for those running a smaller wheel then 17".

so what your saying is...The Cx7 front and rears are actually an upgrade for the regular6 and the MS6 are an upgrade for the CX7???
What's needed is the Brackets for front and rear and calipers for front and rear from dealer. Then the pads and rotors can be had after market??
part numbers please

Once again, I bought the calipers w/brackets both front and rear that came off of a 07 Mazdaspeed 6 from MAZMAX in Houston. I went to the Mazda dealer on Hwy 290 to order the whole setup (front and rear) when Dennis from Mazda told me that Brian over at MazMax had an 07 MazdaSpeed 6 being parted out and you now know the rest. I searched EVERYWHERE for the parts to convert over and had no luck at all. A1 Cardone/Wagner/ all list for the MazdaSpeed 6 but the actual part is for a regular Mazda 6. I'm sorry to say that the MazdaSpeed 6 brakes Have to be purchased NEW from the Dealer or pulled from MazdaSpeed 6 that is being parted out.

Great set up! Very useful info thank you very much...I'm preparing to do this.

For the rear...I'm guessing the msp splash shields need to be removed? Would the rear Mazdaspeed splash shields work?

i want the rear setup... hopefully a general price and list of parts can be made to include the ebrake line... we need someone to put together a kit

The splash shield does not mount up and as far as the E-brake I used the the MazdaSpeed 6 E-brake cables with a little bit of modification for the securing of the cables. I am and will be making a custom set of E-brake cables specially for this setup using LOKAR stainless braided lines. I have enough pieces at this moment to make 3 sets, just waiting on the universal Lokar sets to arrive. Sets will be plug and play when finished. Price will be around $150.00 shipped and ALL parts will be NEW
