Mazdaspeed pics from PHX Auto Show

Hey, everyone-
I just got back from the Phoenix Auto Show downtown at the Civic Center Plaza. It's always a pretty good show (sponsored by MotorTrend, runs through the 5th, $8) and a nice, casual way to see what's going on in one place.
Anyways, I was excited to see an orange MSP there and shot 10 pics for your viewing pleasure. I didn't expect to see that the car has satin finished badging - kinda cool. Color looked slick under the lights and was perhaps just the smallest bit more "peach" than the pics indicate. Enjoy!

I really like the idea how they respect the Mazdaspeed Protege. Everytime i see pictures from a Auto Show, they usually have it on a table top;spinning or they'll have it behind chain & Barrier.
Much respect ! (thumb)

I got to see that ride yesterday. Must of came back to check it out at least 5 times. Love that color!

What upset me where the sales reps there. These guys had no F'in clue what MSP was equipped with! One of the reps I spoke with didn't know who made the turbo... the suspension.... or the exhaust... :wtf: AND I found myself correcting him a lot too!

Yea, I went to the Civic Plaza for the show yesterday also. I was there from like 4-7 (then they kicked us out cuz they closed). I had originally wanted a Mazdaspeed but bought a TIGHT MP5 because it was taking to long to release. Now that I have seen it, I don't really like it. The color in the pictures is wrong it is a peachy-orange-yellow color. My friend and I went (we are major gearheads) and we studied how they set up the turbo, and damn it will be very hard to do anything too that car. The setup looks cheap (too much plastic) and the engine and the turbo are BOTH sucking air from the restrictive air box that is split to both of them. Plus, no leather, the interior is nice but I would take my leather over the cloth any day. It's a cool car, don't get me wrong, but I am glad I have a MP5 now that I have seen it.

Minus the Roof Rack (I need new pics now)

That's funny that we were both there at the same time. We probably saw each other and didn't even know it. We went back to the MSP display near closing time.

As for the color. I think the combination of the overhead lighting plus the flash throw of the color - but not by much. Mostly the overall saturation might be up, the general hue is on - neither too yellow or too red.

I was there with my wife and 20 month old son. He was trying to climb up on every display and get into the yellow 6. Future spokesman?
