I can't seem to find the answer that i need anywhere, so i'll turn to none other than the guru's. I am in desperate need of finding aftermarket valvesprings for the mazdaspeed, does anyone know of a place that makes springs for this car?

you can always get the j-spec protege springs. they allow for 500 more rpms controlling valve float.

why do you need them? looking to turn some crazy rpms? if so I would HIGHLY recomend some long rod forged piston combination. but that still will hurt. our stroke is long.

First, Could you point out a website for the j-spec. Second, I'm lookin for a 8000-8200 red ___. Maybe that's shootin a little high, but i'm a reformed honda driver, or maybe the honda just didn't have the power, so it needed an extra long power band. Dunno.

corksport has eibach springs, yes, for the valves listed on their site. Maybe a call to them could answer some questions on how much they allow for higher rpms?

screw it, just swap an itr in there, lol. edaddeemsp, what kind of plans do you have in mind for your msp?

You will never be efficent at that rpm. You would have to redesign the valvetrain, not just the valvesprings.

it could be done, but he would have to get a custom intake mani, with much shorter runners, custom cams, longerexhaust runners, completly different turbo, oversized valves,............................................

it's not worth the money, unless you made most of the parts yourself.

and it would be high horse power, and low torque.

(hump) then you would have a mazda speed civic!

Yea, always get em wrong, oversquare - bore > stroke, and vice versa for undersquare.

it would certainly help with the reliability of your motor if you are going to be racing, regardless of rpm. I would see how much the entire job should cost and look around for a spare 2.0l head (too bad i just sold my spare) in the for sale section. Then rods and pistons for sure. I think Juan at highboost runs 19+ psi on the stock head, so think what a build head could take. Then a ems and your done. You'll have to take out a second mortgage but it will be worth it in the end. (second)
