Dr. Sound... I love it man, and I actually think there is a difference in power..... that .11 of an inch is like 20 hp to the wheels yo!!! Just kidding. But actually the sound at higher RPM's isn't that bad... I dont' really notice that bad of resonation although there is some, it's just not annoying. I can't wait to get my apex DP with highflo cat.... it should sound awesome then.

I would have gone catless but I dont' want to mess with the MIL eliminator..... that and I don't want to have to put on the cats when I smog....... just me. Plus everyone with the highflo cat says there is no difference between it and no cats.... just what I've heard.

YES... louder and much nicer in my opinion and many others. I love mine... nice little rumble at low RPM's... about the same at higher RPM's... but it does have a slight, and I mean slight resonation to it. You'll love it... go get it now.. and watch Mazda flip out..

cracks are on the inside of the tip on the stock muffler.

mazdaspeed muffler sounds sweet.
especially since i have a downpipe.
Marat heard it from the outside of the car last night, he says it sounds very good.
maybe he'll come in here and describe it more.

mike, get it. definetly worth it.

Damn I like that muffler better then the stock oval muffler on the 03.5s. Lets hope my muffler is cracked tommorow

My exhaust tip was cracked also, I took it to the dealership on Thursday, and they ordered me a new one. They didn't hassle me at all. They said it would take atleast a week to come in. I can't wait to hear how it sounds.

mine is definitely cracked. the edge of the inside of the muffler that meets the oval outter part is pretty much cracked.

I'm wondering what is going to happen when all these MS mufflers start selling out... what kind of delay would people be looking at... and when my MS muffler cracks, what then? Hmmmmm

I realize that the cracking is prone to the '03.5, but has anyone with a '03 got their muffler replaced?

The 03 muffler has a different replacement part # from the 03.5 one did. That is when I was in the part department for about an hour looking up part numbers of MSP mufflers.

News on the Mazdaspeed Muffler from the parts department. It's on national backorder now. They have been waiting for it for a week so far.

It was only a matter of time... glad I got mine while they lasted. Now all I'm waiting on is my new deck and sub-woofer to arrive. That and new front brakes and my car will be new again. Oh Yeah!
