MAZDASPEED exhaust on Titanium MSP

sorry to threadjack....but man where did you find that turbo badge..i cant find one anywhere...except for the back of porsches

Ok, after yesterday at the dealer for about an hour this is what's up.

There is a replacement part number for the 2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege, something like 0000-8m-c15. However, this part number is no longer in existence and as such is replaced by number 0000-8m-C09, which is the new Mazdaspeed muffler. So if your muffler is cracked, there is no way what-so-ever to get a new Racing Beat muffler. We even called Mazda NA to ask them. They appologized and said to replace with the C09 #. So there it is. If your muffler is cracking, which even the new Mazdaspeed on will do, go and get a new one. Tell them to call Mazda NA if they have to. My car is at the dealer overnight from lastnight getting this done. They didn't have time so they put me in a rental, oh the fun, until today at noon.

mazda denied me warranty to replace. But i'm waitin on the service manager to come in. I made a post about it. The guy tried to tell me i hit something and cracked it what a douche bag

Dr. sound.... mine looks just like yours.... hehe, go figure ..... I love it..... sounds 100 times nicer then the piece of s*** racing beat... **** the oval tip... once you've heard this one you'll fall in love, or hate it... I love it. and it was free.... and I got a rental for one day which my buddy and I did 180 e-brake spins in......hehehehehe!!! Just kidding Enterprise, I wouldn't do that.

Your going to love it Rich24km..... looks much better if you ask me...... call me what you may, but I love it. Dang, I should be getting paid to advertise this muffler.

So Johnny, you ended up with the same muffler as me. I can't wait to hear it with your car, I know it will sound great. (2thumbs) Louie

yeah dude, i had a custom cold air intake made out of a eclipse reactive intake, along with that exhaust on my P5 before i traded it. I loved it, i can't wait to hear it on a turboed protege :)

it's nice..... next month when I hopefully get my DP with high flow cat I will hopefully start to hear the turbo spooling up.. who knows....free flowing exhaust means more noise... and noise that sounds like a turbo spooling up is good with me.

Louie....it sounds great. You'll have to hear it soon.

What diameter is the new MazdaSpeed rear section replacement? Looks bigger than stock? Or maybe just wishful thinking...

Is this the 5 o'clock free crack giveaway?!

LMAO!

yeah johnny, awesome that u got the same one and that u like it.
i think it is a better muffler than stock. looks and sound.
i think it IS bigger diameter.....maybe 2.4"

Sup Vic,

I definitely think that Mazdaspeed muffler looks better. How's the sound? Deeper? Any sound clips anyone?

Now about these 'cracks'...where should I be looking for them? (and don't say "South Central" (lol2) ) Which area of the muffler is more prone to cracking?

(sorry for the ton of questions)

cracks are on the inside of the tip on the stock muffler.

mazdaspeed muffler sounds sweet.
especially since i have a downpipe.
Marat heard it from the outside of the car last night, he says it sounds very good.
maybe he'll come in here and describe it more.

mike, get it. definetly worth it.

Nice big wide cracks on the inside of the tip...checked it out this morning.

Called Mazda about that and the alignment being out of whack under 12,000 miles and said to bring it in, they'll fix it.

Alex

mine werent even that big.
1/4 of an inch on one side, and like 1/2 on the other.
