Mazdaspeed 6 SHORT SHIFTER

does anyone know if there are plans for one to be made?
I e mailed TWM Performance and they say one will be made soon.

I will contact B&M to see if they plan on making one...

If this has been discussed before, I'm sorry. I just picked up my 06 and have the mod bug as I do with any/all of my rides....

I just spoke with Steve at B&M
He says B&M needs commitment of 200 people to produce a short shifter for the speed 6

I don't know if that would or could happen but thats what he said

I noticed there is a sport shifter available on the Mazdaspeed accessories page for the 6 but it says "for 5 speed only"
I wonder if the shifter itself is different even though the regular 6 has a 5 speed vs. 6 speed in the MS6???
Anyone?

I guess I'll call Mazda next and see if the shifters are the same or different. If they are in fact different, Mazda should update their Mazdaspeed accesssories page to state it's only for the regular Mazda 6 :"does not fit speed 6 w/6 speed transmission"

that shifter will NOT work on the the Six speed found in the speed6.

the part you are missing is the fact that this shifter says "for 5 speed only"
but at the same time, the ad page for the mazdaspeed shifter says for Mazda 6 and Mazdaspeed 6. It has been confirmed now by many that the Mazda 6 5 speed shifter is a lot different than the Mazdaspeed 6 - 6 speed shifter.

I talked to twm yesterday about a short shift for my ms3 and they said they just finished development of one for the ms6 and it should be available in the next week or 2. They are just checking the clearences of the cables. They also said install will be fairly easy. Does anyone have pictures of they stock shifter so I can compare it with my ms3.

sweet kick ass nice to hear that. I had a twm on my mp3 and msp and LOVED it. hopefully the ms6 one is just as nice. probably make it my first mod.

yeh im getting my kit for free!! i went to see what they did yesterday after i went to pick up my car and let me tell you that it will be a nice piece of art

this is great news indeed, I had a TWM on my Spec V and loved it. B&M made one for the Spec V and had constant problems with the cables bending and snapping and the gear shift went to far back in second and fourth, hitting the console. They did offer an improved version later however and did have fewer problems, however the TWM was flawless out of the box, completely uncomplicated and cheaper!
