New to site. Hello.

Im driving a mazdaspeed 6 07. I have a ms cold air and a hyperteck programmer. Cosmetically only solid Mirror tints (skyscraper tints)

next step is a larger exhaust system (mbrp custom or magnaflow) and final cosmetics (install my subs, motor dressing (red) and some basic red ground effects...rotors, grill and under skirts all around)

I was wondering if there were any performance based mods (bolt on or not) people recommend specifically for an ms6 without seriously sacrificing reliability or costing me an arm and a leg in fuel or parts and labor all things considered.

would love to hear some feed back..

~Thanks

well idk about reliable, basic bolt-ons you can stay fairly reliable... going as far as fuel pump, down pipe is a bit of a far stretch from "reliable"... cobb ap tuning helps a bit though.

you could try those suggestions, but additional bolt-ons that shouldnt cost obscene amounts or totally kill reliability, bypass valve, TMIC upgrade or FMIC setup, Turbo Inlet Pipe, Oil Catch Can (longevity, cleaner running engine), suspension... coils, adjustable ball joints, rear/front sway... indirect performance upgrades: rear motor mount, rear diff mount, full big brake kit, stainless steel brake lines, short shifter, hmm lots more im not thinking of off the top of my head too...

btw, ground effects? i vote no!!!

Want a reliable speed? Keep the car stock. Seriously. Don't expect your car to last if you are modifying it.

Eh.. Fuel pump increases reliability especially with a COBB Tune and a downpipe.
Again everybody I know that got an Cobb tune and did not upgrade there fuel pump blew there motor..

55000 miles with a COBB tune n down pipe with 0 problems

See above... Just traded in with no problems....

The only guys I know with Cobb tune personally are MS3 owners and all 3 blew there motors with boltons.. Intake, full exhaust and ap tune..
They all claimed they were just driving normal when it blew up too. Unless the MS6 is different in some way im thinking be carefull.

These cars were making around 300-320 plus wheelpower with the cobb tune FWD.. And no HPFP upgrade they blew up..

If you just had a DP and a tune then you probably are safe I really dont know how hard these guys were pushing there cars. I can only go by what I know. Full boltons, cobb ap, Blown MOTOR.. Again they were Mazdaspeed 3s I really dont know anybody with a speed 6 personally around here

Basic bolt-ons you should be ok.
As for blown motors...maintain your vehicle. Don't boost in high gears. Bigger fuel pump, maybe you upgrade the injectors too if you're going that route esp w/big turbo etc. IDK.
Personally for me, HKS bov, CPE single-exit CBE, CPE TIP (coming soon), BC Racing BRs (tomorrow), wheels+tires (next week), down pipe (later) & fmic (much later)...and I'm done after that. Then its exterior aesthetic mods whenever.

i completely disagree on the ground effects....that was cool in 2001...when "the fast and the furious" came out.
