Mazdaspeed 3 first gear whine

Hi everyone, recently purchased a Mazdaspeed3 (2008) - there is a whine in first gear when coasting to a stop with the clutch depressed - is this normal or something to be concerned about? - car has 77k km on it.

Yes its normal, its just the transmission. Most guys buy synthetic to help with that problem and make shifting a little more smooth.

PS Mine's black also - these things really move.

Yea mine does it as well, and im pretty sure my prelude did the same thing. Its a common thing with manuals and riding out first IMO. I bought mine used but it did it from day 1 with me. They do move pretty good, especially if you come from something a lot slower, but these cars really wake up with mods.
