Mazdaspeed 3 Corksport Downpipe

we have some in stock sitting on our floor ready to ship :)

in all reality though they are beautiful pipes complete with hardware kits, gaskets and directions. the ms6 ones are just as nice. good job CS.

these are catless. i have had one made with a high flow cat and found it was not much better for the money than stock.

Do you know if anybody has had a dyno with this? Almost 40 WHP gain seems a little high to me, but I have never dyno'd with an aftermarket downpipe. Or do you think that is realistic? Because I have a test pipe with cutout welded into it, so I wanted a shorty DP so I dont feel like I wasted my money with the test pipe and cutout. Thoughts?

all the other manufacturers out there make similar claims with thier downpipes. i think 25 to 35 is realistic on a design like this for most people depending on mods.

Is the intention to replace the DP + 1st cat and leave stock 2nd cat in place? Any gains to be seen by doing this? Or is the intention to run totally catless and replace 2nd cat with a RP. tks - Mike

this downpipe only replaces the first cat. the second cat would be eliminated by what is commonly called a test pipe or mid pipe, which we will have on the shelf in the next week or so, all things as planned that is :)

Ken, how loud will this be with a corksport exhaust?

the exhaust itself will make most of the difference. there is a sound clip on you tube i believe of how the corksport system sounds indoors on the dyno. that will be a fair approximation of what the car would sound like.

So no CEL when both cats are removed??

And if there is a CEL ... removal of which of the cats is causing this (1st or 2nd?)

Tks,
M.

they provide parts to prevent a CEL from coming on

Do you know of any sound clips of someone just having the Dp installed, stock catback. I talked to Derrick at CS and he said it was a bit louder than stock, a big a bit lol. They had a car in I could have heard it on but I dont live in the same state so that didnt work out. I wanted to hear a clip of it by itself though, the stock exhaust is good enough for me for now but I think the dp would be a worth while upgrade, I just dont want it to be super loud....

right now i don't. if you bought it from me and provided a sound clip i'd take a little off the price ;)

Hmmm thats pretty tempting, but Im not sure about anything right now since my motor mounts just failed....(sick)

Im looking to buy a new exhaust today and if not today by the end of the week and have some questions.
Is this downpipe a direct replacement for the stock dp? I mean, can I replace just the downpipe and not worry about anything else, or do I have to get the full corksport exhaust.
Also, you said that it comes with a way to stop the check engine code, what are they doing to stop it? Some sort of O2 sensor eliminator? Will it be something that I could do myself without worrying about having to solder stuff or get a professional to install?
Another question I have is when do you expect to have the test pipe in stock and how much will it cost.
I want to get a full exhaust replacement and right now it sounds like the only one that replaces everything is CPE, I hope that isn't the case.

ps. i could get you that sound clip for the same sort of deal ;)

price looks extra nice on the corksport dp. Over $100 off the CP-E DP even without a cat. The DP doesn't have a muffler or anything in it so why would it change the exhaust note?

Sound = Boo!
Performance = Yay!

I bet this dp paired with the test pipe would make one mean setup!! If you don't mind running catless :) The enviroment is ****** anyway give me more power!

I got my mount and my cai from protege garage and I would be happy to give ya'll more business! Looking forward to a test pipe so I don't have to get one from skeet unit.
