Mazdaspeed 3 CAI not available from dealer

Hi all,

I just got a 2008 MazdaSpeed 3 GT (I LOVE THIS CAR!!!) After reading about the benefits, I decided to install the Mazdaspeed cold air intake (part GRMS-8M-L29.) When I called the dealer to check the price today, they told me the part was "under review" by Mazda and could not be installed. They said this means Mazda has found some sort of problem with the part but he had no details.

Does anyone know what's going on? Are their reliability issues with this part?

There has been a stop sale since March, they are in the middle of redesigning it apparently. As for why they stopped it some say its due to CEL's and some say its due to hydrolocking, who really knows.
