MazdaFest Invades The Mitty

I thought I heard on the radio that Jim Ellis had tickets just for stopping by. I may run down there tomorrow morning and see.

Muff - Whitey, Kevin, and BigAngryWayne will be there on Sunday as well. I'll call ya when I get up there.

I think you may have to test drive. Of course, I suppose driving in a Mazda MP3 up there might be grounds enough. I heard this too.

I had fun today. Wish I could have been there more, but the family was in town most of the weekend. Good times, though. I look forward to your pics B.

So, who all went, how much did it rock? :(

To answer #1, Brian Cembor, me with my parents / brother / his gf, boswell and some of the atlanta region autox folks.

To answer #2: A shitload.

d00d... i was FRIED yesterday.

I think I got dehydrated and the beer at Buffalo's after didn't help any. I had a SCREEEEAMING headache.

But the 100 or so wings hit the spot.

BigAngryWayne went pink indian on the way out... yeah... interesting...

and Hardy and Jesse showed up at Buffalo's completely randomly.

I am about 1/2 way through processing my pics. Hope to have them up tonight. There are some good ones.

Maff, the ones of your car came out fairly decent as well.

I took about 500+ pics yesterday and will probably end up publishing about 300+.

Did you all do touring laps? Did it not suck this year?

Cool deal.

We did have a shitload of gatorade and water with us, you should have borrowed some lol. It was a long day in the sun, but the canopy helped a lot (Thanks Luke / JA!). It helped a lot with the showers on Saturday too lol. I can't wait to see the pics (esp. that 1 of the green mazda prototype with the glowing red exhaust pipe lol)

On saturday with the rain the schedule got all screwed up. My brother was driving that day and only got a few laps in. I drove on sunday and actually got 6 laps in going at a decent clip for the most part. There was the usual traffic jam on the back straight, but other than that it was pretty fun :)

Note to self: I need to find room in the budget for PDXes...

So the editing is done (I think).

Should start the upload afterwork tonight prolly be done around 8 or 9ish... (shrug)

Pics are up!

After these two weeks, I sure hope there are some other races like this. I've had so much stuff to do to get ready for graduation like cleaning up the house and finishing school projects. I really wanted to go to this. It'll be here next year though. Great pictures though Brian. What lens are you using?

I don't think you really captured the full effect of my DOPI Chick pose on the GT3 RS from that angle :p

For the on track shots its a Nikkor 70-300mm zoom.

For the paddock and close up shots 18-55mm lens that has a little bit of a fisheye to it.

You can click on a link on the right side of the pics that will show you the details of the photo. "More information" link.

I love this pic. Shows the absolute furnace that is a high test rotary engine:

None of your pics show up on this forum in my browser but I can see the pics on the other site. One question, what is this car? I gotta say, I am in love with this one.

I want to say MG B...

Why do all of the pics work in my browser, but a bunch of folks are complaining that they can't see them...

<= confused.

I think it's an MGC-GT. Like this one. It's really only distinguishable from the MGB-GT by the bumpy hood, designed to keep the V-6's radiator and intake manifold from sticking out!

I have several pictures of that race car from last year's Mitty! As former daily passenger/pusher in an MG Midget, I'm still a huge MG fan! :D

MGB-GT with the V8 not V6.

They only made a few of he V8s for road racing.
