Mazda6 Reliability?

I have had my 6 for over a year now with just over 20,000 miles on it and I hae had no problems excepct the fisrt year production problems but thats expected

Just wondering what are the common problems (major and/or minor) so far, if any for the Mazda 6 (V6 model with auto)?

integrated fogs was one where they threw a spring in for something about heat expantion from bulb....fuel odor was another and rust in door area...have to peel the rubber back along the door seal to find the rust or you will never see it.

1) Fan module problems. The fan starts acting up, and will kick in at full rpm, making a horrible loud noise. Also can continue running while the car is off, or cease functioning completely. This is a simple replacement at the dealership under warranty.

2) Fuel Evap CEL's. If you buy a 2003, its possible the car hasn't received PCM updates, and can get CEL's based on erronous codes. The solution for this is a PCM update.

3) ATX issues: Harsh shifting and/or bucking. Two results. Either a) Your transmission is over heating or b) You don't have the latest PCM update which addresses the bucking issue.

4) Brake squeel/warped rotors/brake dust: Fixes for these parts are in the works and should be available now, or extremely soon.

Yeah I hope they find something...I'm tempted to just get semi or non metalic and go from there...the rings look nice in the rotors but in actual reality they aren't.

The customer may complaint of the following: 1. A/C doesn't cool well. 2. Engine's cooling fans run all the time, even with the A/C in the "off" position. 3. Engine runs hot (overheat). Replace the Electric Fan Control Unit. It is mounted the top of the left fan shroud. The part number is AJ51-15-15Y.
