Mazda5 GS side skirts are cracked and clips are broken. I would like to ask - how important those skirts? Does it make sense to remove them at all, spray some anticorrosion oil into rocker panels cavity and plug all the skirt mounting holes? For the skirts mounting there are 11-12 small holes on the side of the rocker panel and 3 large holes at the bottom. If all those holes are plugged and rocker panels coated over with a rubberized coating - may it create some venting or rusting issues inside the rocker panels cavity? If anybody has an experience or ideas - please share.
