Ive put a twin mattress in the 5 before, it fits. Ive put a twin mattress and also a queen mattress at a different time in my old 02' subaru impreza wrx wagon and it fit. So you should have no problems.

Two doors thru middle of Mazda 5!
I had no problem getting in two full size wooden doors in my Mazda. Placed the doors between the seats which ran from the back of the car to the edge of the back driver's seats. Still had all the seats up except for the very back two. I'm still blown away about what I can get in this car and the money I've saved by not having delivery service charges for large items.

Upright freezer
First post with my new Mazda5. Didn't take a pic (long night), but we got a 13.7 cubic foot upright freezer in the back still in the box. Just had to remove the wooden foot supports for the door to close. Also, was able to fit a car seat that we forgot to take out of the car before our shopping trip. Dimensions were 32"x63"x30" if I remember correctly. Link to to the freezer below, if you need a freezer that will fit in the back of your Mazda5.

Funny...
Interestingly, the first-ever mainstream minivan in North America, the Dodge Caravan, was roughly the same size. More than two decades later, the Mazda5 keeps the spirit alive in a market that's continuously evolving. It's almost as if the pendulum had gone a full swing and come back to its initial spot...

How weird. I was just thinking about this... and then I came back to work after grabbing something for lunch, there in the parking lot was a 5 and an 88 caravan parked next to each other. The 5 was bigger. And much much cuter.

made it through the summer without it happening so im pretty sure its safe to say no.
Last weekend...decided to blow in insulation into the attic...
Load #1 - 20!! bags of Green Fiber insulation (with rows 2&3 down). Could have squeezed one or two more with some rearranging/use of the front seat.
Load #2 - the huge heavy blower machine that they rent/loan you from Home Depot to do the blowing, AND a huge 3'x3' plastic tub holding 100' of (4"ID) hose. Easily. With baby seat in place in row 2.
Two nights ago - full size ping pong table (in quarters) and the legs/support apparatus with the base still assmbled. Rows 2&3 down.
Amazing little vehicle.

Hey, does anyone know how long the roof is? A friend of mine is selling a Yakima box like this one, and I'm trying to figure out if it's too long for the 5. 89 inch long box.
Once I get my hands on the right Q clips, I'll be putting a Yak rack on top anyway, this box could be great for road trips.
