2007 Mazda5
Yep, saw it on opening night and all of a sudden I whispered to my wife, "That's a Mazda5!! :D"

It's a silver one... closeup shot of it and it captures the entire profile of the car. The scene is like this... when one of Willie Bank's (Pacino's) already corrupt casino workers pawns off some of the casino's golden silverware meant for high rollers, Danny Ocean (Clooney) approaches him and propositions him to play a role in the heist. Just as this guy's walking out to his 5, Ocean stops him and they have a 30 second chat right beside the 5! Didn't catch what trim level it was though, sorry!

I find that in a lot of movies, they'll use a new, hot off the press item to look current and legit... when they could've used any car for this scene, you've gotta admit, they must've gone out of their way to get the 5 in there on purpose.

I wish I had a screenshot for you guys, but I behave in movies... you'll just have to see it for yourselves :)

(Pretty good by the way... not quite up to par with 11, but definitely better than 12)

I see my car featured in movies all the time :D

P.S. Live Free or Die Hard looks AWESOME! I wanna kill a helicopter with my car now.

Don't hate him for owning a car that is the prime choice of 90 year old drivers across the nation :D

Hey Benfolio, What happened to the Marauder BTW? I kind of like that sporty version...

Come on, it is not a 90yr old driver target market only. My neighbors, who are in their 30's and 40's, also drive one. One has a firehouse red color and the other has a bi-color one (black with white doors). Both cars sport a fancy siren and, at least the black one, has a fancy plastic divider for the back seat and a laptop computer in the copilot's seat ;) (five-0)

And yes, all Ocean's movies have been great, so looking forward to see the 13 one with Al Pacino ... and the MZ5 :D

A thread coming back from the death...

I finally rented the movie for the weekend and remembered Jandre22's mention of the Mazda5's appearance. What a good eye, I would have not caught it :D

Paused the scene and took a couple of ugly pics of the video frames, so here we go. Crappy quality I'm afraid :(

Oh, and a good movie too.

Now if only there had been a MazdaV.com sticker in the side window....LOL Its good to know that I'm not the only dork who saw that and went "Oh oh oh oh looky its my car!" Wandering off topic: I would find it impossible to resist the urge to talk like sheriff John Bunnell while driving a Crown Vic "What these two sleaze-bags don't realize is that their every word has been captured on video....." That and going everywhere at three times the posted speed limit.
