but damn, you've gotta be really creative to stand out in the RSX crowd. i'm figuring, the same thing will be with the scion tC, since body kits and engine modification is already on tap.

there isn't a chance in hell. The RSX type-S runs with the crowd of MSP, and Integra type-R, Dodge SRT-4. We are a little aout of our league. I had the MSP and raced a type-S. It was a drivers race.

With that in consideration its pointless to talk about comparisons when you r heavily modding one car
IN any stock comparison, rsxs are junk for 1/4 miles etc, if you dont believe me, go to any american drag strip! (laugh)

Ive been in both worlds and spanked many rsxs and ricers in general, and im saying take these cars to a road course not a drag strip.

I'll put my money on the RSX-S. Then again it depends what you mean by racing and since things are vague people can come up with crazy rules like -- it's a race to the grocery store and back driven by each persons grandmother, or Mazda3 gets $5200 worth of mods to compensate for the difference in invoice price while the RSX-S stays stock.

I think that other thread mentioned wasn't about a race, it was more about which car to would be better to buy all around between a base RSX and a 3s.

Does anyone have 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for a stock MAzda3 Sedan with the 2 liter?

Most tests I've seen, the 2 liter mazda3 will do mid to hi 8 sec to 60 and High 16s on 1/4 mile. Its not that far along from P5s.

Focus SVT- 0-60 7.1 sec 1/4 15.3 @ 90mph
RSX-Type S 0-60 6.8 sec 1/4 15.1 @ 91mph

Why am I the idiot here? If you take an RSX and run a 14 in a quarter im sorry but im gonna laught at you. You can get pissed off all you want over my comments but im not loading you a bunch of bull like some of the ricerboys might. If it makes you feel better I will tell you what you came in this forum to troll about and hear:
"The RSX is da faztiss car ever made in production. The carbun Fiber hood makes like 200rwhp and when I turn the radio off, the power really kicks in and i beat an 03 cobra and a z06 before I had to shut it off at 200"

Now for the truth:
RSX will probably win, but considering its so FUGLY you walk away the winner because U were smart enough to buy something that didnt scream "Im an 18 year old virgin who lives with my parents, check me out ladies!"

If you are refering to the V-6 or V-8 engines in the Taurus SHO, they were both built by Yamaha, not Mazda. Neither the V-6 nor the V-8 were ever factory turboed or supercharged.

and yes the V6 was a yamaha engine but i'm certain that the v8 was fords product from the crown vic.

The crown vic V8 is a 4.6L. The SHO V8 is a 3.4L. Definitely Yamaha.

Wow. So...a Mazda economy car that looks like a bubble is "cooler" than a low-end luxuory car that has a huge road race history? If you're implying an RSX-S is a "baller on a budget" it costs more than a Mazda3.

I think so. Beside cant see speending all that money on an RSX when the SRT-4 is faster, but I like the look and the feal of the Mazda 3 and the price was right

I thought the same thing too until I test drove an RSX-S and LOVED how refined it was. The SRT-4 was great, and would definately be worth the money, but i'm so sold on the "honda-ness" of the RSX-S.
