I think so too. I recently purchased an M3 sedan for two weeks now. It is awesome. So far no problem yet, just the brake dust issue that I have read about. (usa)

I had a friend who owns a 01 acura integra GS, who have had his tranny replaced at 25K. Talk about problems. All car will develop some kind of problems whether new or a few yaers old. I quess it just depend on luck if your car was built by a meticulus worker or one that happen to come to work that day depressed and drunk or somthing. (peep)

I've been reading through this thread, and came across a problem with "brake dust" relating to the Mazda 3. Exactly how serious is this problem?

Also would the second year production (2005) of the Mazda 3 eliminate/reduce the number of problems this car has received so far?

Brake dust is caused by either strong calipers or dusting pads. generally only higher perf. brake pads dust and it is usually the front. the dealer will probably never do anything.
