mazda3 sedan problems

Have you tried pressing hard on your sedan bumper? You will see what I mean when I say cheap and poor quality.
if you look hard enough for a problem, you will find one. and if you love hondas so much, why didnt you buy one in the first place?? you're obviously anal about things that are not perfect

dont hate this car for its good looks and styling. the mazda 3 has beaten tons of cars including the civic coupe. actually the price of the car is pretty cheap for the looks and performance and the comforable interior. just think twice befor you make your mind trading it in for the acura. im also trading mines in about 2 years (when im 19) and get an evo 8 (hopefully) but not because of small problems that could be fixed like bumper easlily popping off or vibrations on the dash board (mines is smooth and quiet as silk! lol) but because i just want a faster car!

Good luck with the RSX - it should put things into perspective when instead of having a small collection of minor issues, you have a small collection of minor issues plus at least a fair chance at having a defunct transmission after a couple years (ever research up on the RSX? Not that forums are the most accurate representation of problem frequencies, but go to an RSX forum and ask about the synchromeshes in the trannies).

You can check out the other build quality-type issues when you're browsing the forums too.

your dissatisfaction

Very good point by blizz81. It is a very well known fact that there are "many" RSX owners out there with problematic transmission syncros. Some of these owners are so pissed that there is mention of serious lawsuits if Acura does not fix this problem.

Hey Mazda3ster, you got it lucky if that is all you have had go wrong. I still like my car even though I have already replaced.....2 rear shocks, 2 hatch struts, 1 window regulator, 1 clutch Master Cylinder (needs to be replaced again due to major squeeking every time I push clutch, 2 drive axle bolts and 1 rear brake caliper. Still got problems with caliper and clutch, dealer is trying and I am trying to keep my patience.

Wanna trade cars dude? Then you will see how lucky "you" are with yours. Hang in there fella.

T.

Man I have never seen so much whining in my life. M3 beats Civic hands down (the coupe? are you kidding? 127hp, no tq), you want a Civic, fine. I'm not sure about the bumper thing but I have had zero problems with my hatch, brake dust excluded. Sounds like a bad case of buyers remorse to me. Check up on the car you plan to buy and its competitors before you just walk into a dealership and plunk down your $$$! Also, comparing to rsx-s is apples to oranges. M3 - 4/5 door : RSX-S 2 dr. M3 ~ 17K : RSX-S ~24K. Get a life dude.

Get a life may be a little harsh, How about get real.

The only reason I keep bringing it up on here is because I had myself set on a base model RSX until I spent some time on the forums. I really enjoyed my 91 integra and my family had a number of hondas over the years, and I would have welcomed the comfort of going back to Honda ownership (even though I don't really like the way the RSX looks, and the base model performance isn't the tops)....but the traditional Honda bang-for-your-buck build quality and reliability wasn't there.

Sorry to stray, but they're replacing the master cylinder for your clutch squeak? It's not the linkage by the slave cylinder that's squeaking?

hey blizz81

I asked them that about that, and they said they really feel it is inside the hydrolics of the master/slave cylinders. I really think something just needs a shot of lube. But then, it also "hisses" from outside the car at times too. Im just rolling with this in hopes they figure this out.

hmm...hissing...that's tricky. In gear or out of gear? clutch engaged/disengaged? Just thinking about the throwout bearing...I haven't paid close enough attention to listen to mine to see if you can hear the TO bearing at all...

Keep us posted as developments arise, please :) I hope your patience stays strong.

listen to u people b****. U are gonna have rattles on any economy car, honda or not. Second mazda paint is thin. If u had done any research on the protege's or this forum u would have realized this too. The bumper issue sounds like what was said. Kinda like the saturns that are dent resistant. And considering the mazda has the VVT now i think it is far more adv. than the civic si VTEc,... that only puts 125whp to the ground, not very impressive. and about the RSX-S...my car puts more torque down than that car. if u wanted a honda then get one but the new 3 destroys any other economy car in any conceivable category imo.

a $19000 car is an economy car nowaday?

This guy definately bitches a lot. If he doesn't like it, then move on. No need to tell us stuff we already know.

I got my 3 hatch for $16,100, after college grad discount. That is with zero extra options, and STILL an incredible car. I dont need a sunroof or xenon lights, the car drives the same with or without the extra fluff. So yes, 16K is an economy car. Try to get a Civic EX much less an SI for that. Plus, I get a good laugh now when a Civic starts revving next to me.

Hey, I know you guys seen problem with your new M3, but don't want to acknowledge that you have made a bad buy. Right? Off to the Acura dealership.

Actually, you got me. I really want to go to the Acura dealership and pay SEVEN THOUSAND more dollars for a car that has 2 doors and no cargo room. Let us know how that turns out will you? I sure you will be much happier with your higher payments and you absolutely perfect car that has no defects.(cryhard)

I can honestly say (with my deceased grandmother as my witness) that i've had no problems with my car so far. so go get your acura and shut up. my last car was a honda and this mazda is still fine with me.

man.......i think that mazda3ster is just tryen to get us mad u know. Just let him do his thing and then he will know what we're talking about after he gets the acura! And if you get the coupe....you ganna be eatin alot of dust..... (guitar)

Finally got rid of my M3 for the Acura RSX. So far the ride from the dealership to home was very smooth and very qiuet interior. Should have bought this in the first place and saved alot of $$$! This will be my last Mazda post. Good luck to all you M3 owners out there. Enjoy your problematic M3. Acura is smoking fast!
