My brother in law is looking at buying a new or slightly used Mazda3. Anyone know of any real good pricing on one?? He's looking around $14K 0-super low miles on a automatic sedan. He's trading in his More expensive gas guzzeling 07 Charger in attempt to cut his monthly spending.

Marion at Rosen Mazda Lake Villa has hooked a lot of us up, shes a nice lady, kinda rough but nice. 847-245-7600 is the number there, doesnt hurt to start there and see what they can do for you :)

i think there is an andersen mazda in crystal lake, call them, both rosens, and the autobarn around the same time and see who can give you the best deal, my mom did just that and got an awesome price for my bro's new 3. you wont know until you call around. call a bunch of dealerships and use their numbers as leverage. you can get something with around 20-25k mi. for 14k.

Hell, I bet you can get a new 3i auto for about that much after incentives (if they're still doing them) and negotiation. Plus he's better off going new anyway to get the 0% interest for 60 months (which is still going on!)

going to be more than 14k for the 2010 3i auto, at least another 1500-2k for just their base with no power locks, etc.

He'll make that up in finance savings versus a 4% loan or whatever he'd qualify for on a used loan.

As an example (actual calculations):

$15,500 @ 0% for 60 months = $258 / mo.
$14,000 @ 4% for 60 months = $258 / mo.

That makes sense!! I also figure the further from Chicago the better as well. I'm about to call Marion for him right now and she was she can cook up. 15K at 60 months 0% would be ideal for him!!!
Santos, How great of a deal did your mom get?

I believe you pay tax @ the rate of your hometown.

You do, but it seems the further from chicago you go the cheaper the actual car becomes. You think it would be opposite though since Chicago has more dealers competing...

Lower property values for the dealership means less overhead and less "profit" they have to make on each car to cover their overhead.

I just talked to Marian just now, she is so willing to work with whomever is buyig the car, the program for the special rate ends Wednesday, just a little info for you :)

I talked to her yesterday she gave me a great price number then I started calling around to other dealers and they started beating each other by $100-$200 I'll ultimatly try Marion for the final deal

Nice! Let us know what you (and the bro in-law) end up with ;)

Well the deal is being signed as e speak and I'm posting this from the lounge at the Autobarn Mazda!!
I as able to talk them into a 2010 MazdaI Sport for $14900 and that includes the delivery charge!!! of course we were able to get the 0% for 60 months with the deffered 90 day payment. We couldn't get the $500 loyality since he doesn't share our address althouth he is living with me at the moment.
The hard sell was trading in his 07 Charger 2.7 SE with 45K because he still owed $12,400 on it and they only wanted to give him 8K on the trade in. I as able to convince them to pay off his car fully!!! He also ent in without a down payment. All in all I think we robbed this place! $320/month twice as good gas mileage and cheaper ins. This as win win. Thanks for all the help guys.

You had me at $14,900 but lost me at $320/month. With 0% interest for 60 months, he's paying $19,200 total. Tax on $14,900 is not $4,300. They may have said they were paying the car off fully. But what they meant was HE is paying the car off fully. By rolling the negative equity into the new loan. Still not a bad deal. But the dealership didn't pay his Charger off.
