Mazda3 MPS - Headlight Cleaners

I'm sure i'm not the first to notice....but apparently the foreign markets for the 3Speed have a high-pressure headlight cleaner built into the bumper. I've seen a bunch of photos of their models with the two cleaner "doors" on the bumper, and came across a video. I thought the video was just a custom mod. Does anyone know about such an after market kit for our US model?

Here's a video I found of the RX8 with what i'm talking about http://youtube.com/watch?v=EkDQ0kk3Ee8

yeah i think it would be to much trouble to fit something like that thats not intended for it. you would need to tap into the washer fluid resovoir, you need to have it wired to the switch, not to mention cutting into the bumper...

It's good if you live in a dusty area I guess. I think I would position them outward, and spray people crossing the street. :P But it is factory in Australia.....so i'm sure you could get all the parts.

My GTI had these and they were neat, and that was about it. The thing that sucked was that if you had the lights on and used your windsheild washers, these would activate EVERY time. Talk about going through some washer fluid......

Thats a requirement by the Euro law. Here is the quote from wikipedia.

"European vehicles equipped with HID headlamps are required by ECE regulation 48 also to be equipped with headlamp lens cleaning systems and automatic beam leveling control. Both of these measures are intended to reduce the tendency for high-output headlamps to cause high levels of glare to other road users." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headlamps)

Yep. The headlamps on the GTI auto adjusted everytime I turned them on. That was neat as well :)

Around here, just driving 10 minutes cakes your headlights with salt and you don't see anything at night. It would be very useful.

I think all Mazdas in Europe have these.

My MPS3 has auto adjusting HID's and the headlight washers, they are part of the "sportspack" model (this model also gets the part leather seats, Bose stereo and shadow chrome effect paint on the wheels) of the MPS3 over here in Australia

Here is a pic of the front of my car, you can see where the washers pop up from the bumper:

That is a really nice blue, fits the 3MPS really well. Want to trade cars? :)

Wow that color is ******* sweet. The lamp washers seem sort of stupid to me....just wash your car. I put mine either in the touch free once a week or do it if its above freezing. honestly, if your car gets so dirty you cant see out of your headlights....wash it please. its a neat idea though.
