2006 Mazdaspeed 6 Grand touring
This is a different comparison that isnt looked at often.

Oh danm it, i didnt think this would happen, i have a car that has challenged my mazdaspeed 6( the car i wanna buy)
A 2008 Saab 9-3,
I really like the looks. and Euro style i love. classy sporty. but. the minus which the mazda outtakes the Saab.
Mazda 270 hp Saab 210hp
Mazda 2.3L T Saab 2.0L T
Mazda AWD Saab FWD
Mazda $24,000 Saab $21,000 (averages)
Mazda 6 spd Saab 6spd
Mazda 18/24mpg Saab 19/29mpg

Both have traction control, and as well the mazda has a nice 2 trim leather which the Saab just has black leather(my opinion that i like)

anyways this will be my daily driver and live in Canada, so i have winter?
whats do you guys think? and this will be my daily driver?

I think these cars normally appeal to two different types of car buyers. I've always thought of the SAAB as the ultimate yuppie mobile. Maybe it's where I live, but I've never seen a SAAB driven by anyone else other than a 40+ woman with big sunglasses and dyed-blond hair. The old joke in which you can insert any car manufacturer works best with SAABs, too:

"Know what the difference is between a SAAB and a porcupine?
The prick is on the outside of the porcupine."

I will concede that I like a few things about SAABs. I do think the newer ones look fairly dashing. I've always liked their driver-centric cockpits. But every review of every SAAB that I've ever read has said that the handling is way too soft, and the overall driving experience is "cold" and "unconnected". They may have some pick-up, but they're not enthusiast cars.

The MS6 is quite a bit more sporty, both in specs, performance, and (I think) looks. AWD is always better than FWD, of course, especially in winter climes. As for gas mileage, ever since I learned how and when to shift this car, I can get north of 27 or 28 miles to the gallon.

There's also the "Rolex factor", as I call it. I'm a watch enthusiast, and if I see someone with a Rolex, I don't really care; a lot of people own a Rolex and don't really care about the piece of art that they have on their wrist. However, if I see somebody with a Panerai or an IWC or a Zenith, I'll strike up a conversation; these people are much more likely to appreciate their timepiece.

If I see a SAAB on the road, I don't really care; it's a nice car but I'll see another bajillion SAABs before I get where I'm going. But if I see something special, something unique, like a GNX or an R32 or even a good ol' SHO, I'll swivel my head up to 180 degrees to see more of it. The MS6 is such a rare find on the road, it will really stick out to those "in the know". There's something kinda cool about that.

Now, if you got one of those new Turbo X SAABs... Well, that's a different story...

-Jay (Still misses his Yamahammer...)

if you're looking at a 210 hp FWD car, have you considered the 6S?

the '03-'05 with the sport body kit looks better than the MS6 IMO, has an awesome v6 growl, 220 hp, drinks regular gas, and I bought mine loaded (used) for half the price of what you're considering

I agree with both previous posts... except the statement made that a regular 6 with a body kit looks better then a speed (uhm) anyway... we could go on all day about the differences but all that matter is what you like you have to drive it every day not us!

yeah i actually went to test drive a saab aero, well ill just say out of my experince the Suspension is much softer then the speed 6. Nice interior tho. But yeah not my style checked some stuff out trans and engine wise, and they are really old fashioned, not many quircks and pirks. anyways yeah i think ill stick with getting a speed 6.

and who ever said to get a normal 6 ummm, yeah right. i rahter have my protege (lol) hahaha.
but i still think it looks nice.

SAAB.... meaning......... Some AssHole Actually Bought it......... Buy mazda and save yourself the trouble of getting bored in a month or two.

Read these They will help alot! I dont care to much for the exterior look of the new saab! The 2004-2006 aero is where you need to be looking if you want a saab! But if your going for a new 2008 saab its way above 21k! Go for the Speed or the older Aero sedan![/QUOTE]

it says in that link that you can change " The driver can also select Normal, Sports and Snow modes for optimized traction "

Lets not forget that saab is part of GM....... Ive always had bad luck with GM Vehicles so I probably wont ever own one again.(dance)

but yeah my decision is with the speed 6 unless i can find something else in a 07 model that can beat the speed 6 including similar price and looks.

For Only Rum Drinkers and don't forget GM General Mistake. (lol).

GM = Genital Motors

And now for the goods:

Mazda = Most Always Zipping Dangerously Along
Mazda = Must Always Zoom Down Asphalt

Im done now.(eekdance)

I thought about getting the saab when I was car shopping. After reading about every review possible about them I realized that nobody really has much good to say about them. They always seem to have some cool new aerodynamic or stability feature but when it comes down to it . . . everyone says drivability is meh. The saab's are more expensive than 21K unless you get the faster version which will be over 30k (more expensive than MPS6). The speed 6 will also be cheaper, drive better, be faster than the saab to name a few plus's. Gas mileage does kinda suck though.
