I really think Mazda needs to bring the diesel here in the US or at least get the i-ELOOP or whatever they call it here soon. A mild hybrid system would definitely add more torque to the lower end and would provide extra torque for any uphill driving. I don't think the SkyActiv provides enough torque for a SUV like this but I'm not saying it won't be adequate. The diesel would certainly alleviate this problem but the cost factor comes into play.
