Seconded, but I had no choice and the auto-manual is a good compromise, IMO. But yeah, shifting isn't shifting in the traditional sense.. it's more like a request for the car to shift up or down at the next available opportunity, of course hoping that 'immediately' is among the available options.
For example, I've noticed that if I'm pushing the throttle harder the up-shift tends to be delayed whereas if one's accelerating "normally" it tends to shift more immediately. Also, I've learned when I need to "shift" (i.e. enter a shift request) in order to affect the desired gear change at the desired time.
Further, it actually lists the speeds and times at which the TX will up-/down-shift in the Owner's Manual (which, I understand, almost nobody ever reads). (RTM)
