Mazda Ski Rack

Mazda rack is a Yakima Button Down 4 model. When mounted on Mazda crossbars, the bindings come within 1/8 inch of hitting the roof when ski's are put in as a pair together. Seperate them and this rack will only hold 1 and 1/2 pairs of ski's. Not to good. I'm going for the Yakima FatCat 6. Then put ski's in seperately with bindings up.

Just get a box. Thule Atlantis 1600. Same as the box listed in the Mazda accessories book, but you can find it cheaper elsewhere. Great for skis.

I was going to go for the FatCat6 also, but decided to go with an InnoRacks gravity rack because it has a height adjustment feature and I snowboard and have a very large upperstrap that always rubs the roof...not with this rack though. Only thing that's a pain is that you have to buy an additional $40 universal fit attachment for it but my total cost was just over $100 so I can't complain. It also has built in locks so you don't have to buy them like you do with Thule or Yakima. check it out here: http://www.backcountryoutlet.com/outlet/INO0006/c4/s11/Inno-Racks-Gravity-Snow-Rack.html

Actually.. made a mistake the one in the Mazda catalog for a Medium box, it the Thule Atlantis 1600. That's the model I have.
