Mazda Protege Owner Photos

with all the work and time and money spent and still to spend why not a MS3 engine/trans that way it holds up better under boost, and you get the 6-speed.

On another note:
Using 2.0l axles?
Using 2.0l protege trans? or 2.3l MZ3 trans and converted to cable linkage?
How far off were the mounts?

Well the Protege in your sig/avatar is silver. That one is black. Is that yours? Do you have a build thread for it? Any more video? I would like to read more about it and more info please.

more info soon at the moment that's top secret

the biggest advantage of MZR or Duratec is that many more options in racing parts for forced indusion and natural aspirate!!!

ahh the typical guy doing a swap, the exact reason i documented everything with the kl swap. I hate when people just can't share info(oh noooooo someone may copy me) looking forward to the build thread then...

As for the mzr or duratec, i would like to know how there is more? seems about the same. the 2.0l has the stock callaway manifold, steedspeed, obx, thunder, generic manifolds, etc. with all sorts of flanges allowing different turbos, the motor has many different internal setups avail too, the 1.6l has the hiboost and turbo specialties kits, the 2.5l v6 has generic turbo manifold setup with t3 flange allowing many different turbos, and in any case the swaps be it, the KL v6, MZR, or Duratec is not going to allow for certain mods i.e: downpipes, intercooler setups(except the mzr disi tmic setups), intakes, etc.. to be used on the protege without modifications

I keep all my big plans for my cars secret too. Too many fuckers near me who would jump on the chance to take my idea and do it first. I'll share all info when it's done, but not before. One thing I've found that kinda drives me nuts when I'm digging for information is when someone has a really nice build thread, but it's 150 pages long of a lot of banter, and no real information being shared. At that point, I may as well just pick up War and Peace and read that.

what a pointless swap...the MS3 motor would have made alot more sense

I kinda disagree. I've seen more horsepower potential come out of the N/A 2.3's after say a Tri-Point turbo kit than messing with the DISI. There's more room to work when you're not limited to one type of injector. In the long run, an N/A 2.3 would be (in my mind) easier and cheaper to purchase since there are a lot more of them out there, and they probably haven't had the living piss beat out of it by some dumbass kid who thinks he has the fastest car in the world (because several magazines told him it was the best sport compact out there).

Plus... too much power in a FWD car, especially one that's lighter than the MS3 is just leads for a tire smoking good time. While fun to do, its next to pointless.

But of course, those are just opinions that will probably be torn apart and bashed by just about everyone on here... so take it as you will.
