Mazda Offering an Intake/Exhaust Upgrade?

Read somewhere that certain Mazda dealers can install an upgraded intake and exhaust thats good for 298HP. Or at least get the parts.

Yes they are supposed to be realeased in february, but they are going to be ridicuously expensive. 800 for cai and 1500 for exhaust. By the way they are for the speed3, the exhaust and intake for the standard 3 are already out but wont give 298 hp.

I'm making my intake and as far as exhaust systems I'm waiting for the 3 " catback magnaflow system from Autocrosssover

i heard the same thing from some of my canadian customers - those prices seem outworldly, even for OEM

Ya, they know they have ya by the short hairs. Those are the only ones that wont void the warrenty. (pissed)

a truely well designed stainless steel exhaust form Mazda is pretty cheap at 1500$ imo. Its done for this specific car and should give better results over many (prolly not all caus some are developping for really high boost and upgraded turbo) aftermarket one and it wont void the warrenty. It wont hit or rub anywhere and will be direct replacement (no need to do any fittement wich i never saw on any aftermarket exhaust). I will be willing to get it at any price under 1700 CAD. Lets hope it will come out under that price tough so we can buy some other goodies :)

You would think it would be quality but other mazdaspeed exhausts for the regular 3 are far below the quality of aftermarket companies, just read the 6 month review in the engine and performance section.

where did you read that it wil be 1500 dolalrs? you got a link or something..and theres no way the cai is 800 dollars...maybe 800 yen

Tell that to Street Unit since they're offering to accept your preorder at $77 off the retail price of $1534 for the exhaust and at $41 off of $819 for the CAI.

Yes I'm sure its 800 yen, which is like $6.5

Not sure about the reliability of this article, but it sounds more like the upgrade they will be offering is $2000 and includes:
1. Cat-back exhaust
2. CAI
3. Coilover suspension
4. Lightweight aluminum wheels with 245/45 tires.

So this supposedly brings output to 298hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.

Here's the link: http://drivingsports.com/mag/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=42&Itemid=29

The increase in power output was confirmed by another source too but I can't remember which magazine it was and I don't want to quote the wrong one.

Based on recent posts (Order Cp-e Speed3 Intakes Now!! thread), I predict you will be correct. Except there won't be any Blue warranty code. Only the Green, which is what has been offered previously for other models. This takes it out of the "news" category and into the "Is there really any benefit to going with Mazdaspeed parts instead of aftermarket?" category. The answer as always is a big fat maybe, maybe not.
