Mazda Mystery Oil

After much searching, I have no answers. Can someone tell me if this Mazda motor oil part #0000-77-5W30-QT is conventional oil, synthetic blend, or full synthetic?

The dealership told me (and charged me) it was synthetic. I don’t know if that means synthetic blend, or full synthetic. My question is… if it’s synthetic, why wouldn’t Mazda put that on the label? I think Mazda's oil marketed in Canada has synthetic on the label.

I think it is pretty strange they don't say synthetic on the bottle...If you look at the 5W30 that is sold in Canada it specifies synthetic on the bottle. I actually emailed mazda...

It bugged me that the Mazda branded 5W30 oil is conventional oil (in USA market) so yesterday I emailed Mazda USA thinking I would probably not get a response back, but to my surprise the next day (today) I received a reply. The reply was "Mazda recommends conventional SAE 5W-30 engine oil be used for your vehicle engine type to ensure that your vehicle operates as intended and to ensure maximum engine performance. If you would rather use synthetic engine oil for your vehicle please consult with the service department of your nearest Mazda to confirm this will not harm your vehicle."...

That’s why I previously never purchased synthetic "blends"… well, until I started getting oil changes at Mazda dealerships.

Right. Nothing wrong with conventional oils, but consumers should have a bit of awareness. I enjoy my high fructose corn syrup as much as the next guy.
