I would like to come out for another meet though, I will have to make a solid effort this summer.

From what I know of Sylvan Lake, if this is happening on a warm day there will not be a parking lot available for all the cars that would be coming. I am not sure how often anybody goes to Sylvan during the summer, but I do my best to stay away during the busy warm days. (I actually forgot about how bad it is when I spoke in support of a meet in Sylvan).

Sylvan turns into a giant clusterfuck during the summer months. Any thoughts?

I actually used to live in Sylvan, so I know a few tricks. Sylvan IS busy. Very true ... but if everyone is willing to get there before noon, parking shouldn't be much of a problem. The bigger problem is access to firepits - there aren't any anymore.

Gull Lake (East of Bentley) is 1/2hr north of Sylvan, and would also make a great spot for a meet. HUGE parking lot right off the lake, and I am pretty sure there are still firepits in the day-use areas.

There isn't much out by Rocky or further west, lots of small campgrounds, but not large enough for a meet.

I would try to stick with Sylvan or Gull Lake.

gull lake would be great, ur right, fairly large parking lot there, and it should be a lot less crowded compared to sylvan, as for fire pits, i think theres a fireban in alberta.. not sure how long that will last..

Firebans were lifted long ago ... it's been raining here for nearly a week straight. I am heading up that way this weekend, so I will scout it out and check for all necessary services and post back early next week.
