Mazda CX-5 with Mods

Hi all,

Newbie here, tought I introduced myself.
Not from the US, Indonesia to be exact.
I did some mods to the CX5, Hope u guys like it.

Here are some pics and vid.

For my taste, I would prefer the top grill to be black for a more OEM look.

that and add these fender flares to better intergrate these big wheels and it would be even better:

Indonesia must be a happening place these days. There have been quite a few stunning CX-5's posted on the forum from Indonesia - all pristine and well presented.

If body kits weren't so expensive here in the States, I'm sure there would be more kitted CX-5's rolling around.

Agreed, and yes it's wild and not especially practical. Must be lowered to minimize the look of excessive wheel gap given the extremely low profile tires.

The grille and bumper is integrated, it's a whole bumper kit and I'm not into Panda two tone kinda guy. it's already Panda enough as it is. thanks for the idea for the flares. might consider replacing them.

Bodykits is cheap here. with paint and install only cost USD 1.000. It's funny that seems like Indonesia is the place to mod CX5, all our neighbouring countries seems to think it's a commuter car and not worth modding. But anyway, it's nice to join the forum and mingle with people that can appreciate.

Thanks for the input Bro. Grille is integrated with the bumper, cant do anything about it.

Some people tought so. But surprisingly handling and ride comfort doesnt change much. unlike some other cars I've modded.
Installed the 20" before which only 1" up from the OEM but looked too small to compliment the bodykit. so I went with 22" instead.

oops, missed one more comment. As I said in the previous comment, it's surprisingly still very comfortable to ride in this condition. Mazda must be doing something right in the suspension area.
I did lowered the car, changed the springs to TEIN. dropped 3,5cm. There's still a 1" gap though but I don't wanna go too low. bumpy rides and really not convenient here with our road condition, Also i dont wanna lose the SUV character.

Google: Chaos CX5. $600+ (not incl shipping, which for us in the States is >$300). Painful. But those flares are so tasty!

I think they do weigh a lot more than the OEM one. But Like I said riding comfort and handling wise is only slight different from stock. so I guess not really a problem for me.

Speedbegone posted pictures of the Mazda made CX-5 SEMA demo car named "Urban"

The car was actually at the NYIAS. I took quite a few detailed pictures of it. The flares blend with the body well and the texture is the same as the other plastic moldings. The wheels are huge with additional spacers front and rear. It's also riding on 295's all around. I'll post the pictures when I get the chance.

^^this. If we could get our hands on those flares (inexpensively)... I'd be a happy camper. Methinks we're looking at 2 bills min for each. Oh well. Gotta pay to play, right?

Do you have any info for the front bumper? I'm about to get a CX-5, I prefer not having a huge emblem on the front and yours is the best one I've seen.

I agree, those wheels are overkill however, it's your car and money.

That post above me is worse, the CX-5 with the black hood and red neon is beyond cheesy.
