Mazda CX-5 Quickness VS Mazda 2010 3S

All of this stuff is written in the owners manual. It makes me think that these people don't read the owners manual to their $25,000 machine and just come on the forums and complain out of ignorance. We get basic questions all the time that is addressed plain and clear right in the owners manual like engine break in period.
Yes, I see this happening in every forum I've been a part of. I think some people take it for granted they know "how" to drive a car, so no need to read the owner's manual.(dunno)
Nevertheless, given that many people aren't going to read the owner's manual (I know, but it's just how it is), I would have thought it would be in Mazda's best interests to go over something as important as throttle response (especially since the CX-5 features an unusual setup) at the point of sale. I got the impression that the sales guy at my dealership (chill as he may have been) had no idea.

I guess dealership bone ignorance isn't much of a surprise, but seriously the throttle setup on the CX-5 is a cool feature and should be broadly touted beyond "look it up."

I see your point Addabox. My salesman did mention this feature to me. He and his wife both drive Mazda 3s, so it may have come down to salesman's experience with Mazdas, or perhaps different training across dealers, not sure. Or maybe your salesman was high. That would explain why he was so "chill" (stoned)

I've owned a CX-5 Touring AWD for a couple of weeks now. It's my first Mazda, and, it replaced a 2010 Honda CRV that I was driving for business. The CX-5 reminds me very much of the Jaguar X-Type 2.5 AWD I used to own. HP and performance are similar - the CX-5 being a bit quicker to 60, but, doesn't have quite as much top speed. The Jag was the same way - if you floored it, good things happened. The CX-5 will blow the doors off a CRV, even though HP ratings are similar - the Mazda makes much better mid-range torque. I also own a Mercedes Benz GLK 350 4Matic, and its throttle set-up is much like the Mazda as well. After I broke the Mazda in, I had occasion to punch it while trying to get on the interstate on my last business trip. I'm very pleased with the get up and go It's got.

He was Tony Shalhoub in Galaxy Quest chill, so you may be right. Not kidding, he was kind of like "Wow, you might want to buy a car? That'd be awesome. We have some. You can, you know, check them out?"
