Mazda and the giant screens

Mazda is late to a bad trend. Subarus are already putting back in physical controls, Mazdas had a real chance to buck the trend and be in a steady spot but no, they're still trying to copy something people already said they hated and other car makers already got the memo.

I think my neighbor has a '25 Honda Pilot…It looks like the audio volume knob is on the infotainment screen. Looks kinda strange, in my opinion.

Would not have bought the '26 cx-5 over the '25 cx-5 just due to the screen...even though i really would like having the extra space inside...screens are cheaper than buttons overall for a manufacturer...they are also easy items to get customers to come back to dealers for repairs when it doesn't work and you can't get to your hvac controls...big money for the customer to replace...easy labor for the dealership to replace as i assume they are plug & play...software issue needing an update will also bring you back to the dealer...also a safety hazard trying to touch a screen in the right spot while looking vs just feel for a button that you know where it's located...i don't care how good you think your in car voice recognition is...smells like a scam...hard pass on cars without buttons.
