Mazda Accessories?

Hey a goofy question...

I've been using my cargo area a lot and decided that I'd buy the cargo tray and the little bumper guard thing just to protect against wear and tear. I know you can get these things from Mazdastuff.com for $45 and $27 respectively, but thought I'd look around locally and just pick them up. Neither of the dealers I asked had them in stock and they both quoted me different prices for each item?? One dealer wanted $75 for the cargo tray and $45 for the bumper guard!!! I laughed right in the guy's face!

Don't these things have an actual price?

the MSRP for those items is $60 and $31, however you must remember that MSRP stands for _M_anufacturer's _S_ugested _R_etail _P_rice. notice the S stands for "Sugested", which means that a dealer can sell them for what ever he wants to, but that is what mazda 'sugests' they are sold for. if i were you, i would just order them from mazdastuff.

They also make a cargo mat for the back, which is a direct match for the floormats, and has the Mazda logo in the center - I like it better than the tray.

I bought mine from a dealership that lists all the common accessories on e-Bay - Do a search for "Protege 5"

I think I paid $38 for the mat - The tray is $39.99 I believe, and the bumper protector is $26.99

Don

I paid $32 for the bumper protector and installed it in like 5 min. I'm sure that it's not the coolest thing that I'll put on my car, but I'm sure it'll be one of the more useful ones. :D

i picked up the cargo net from mazda for $30 cnd.

it looks a little awkward but it keeps things from moving around in the back.

it's more like a cover to keep things pinned down rather that a bag like thingy.

Continuing the thread...after hearing the ridiculous prices from local dealers I got on the computer and ordered the cargo tray from mazdastuff.com

Price was $45 plus shipping. Total came to $50.79 Apparently they shipped Immediately because I got it from UPS about six O'Clock tonight. PLUS they threw in a neat little Mazdastuff Koozie!! Great price, ships immediately and a free koozie! Now you know where to order accessories folks!

Enjoy the cargo tray. I had one in my previous car as well and it has to be about the most practical car accessory I've come across.

i think bumper guard is a must if you take heavy stuff in and out of the cargo area. it saved my bumper a couple of times already. It was the best mod i had and for those who are thinking about buying a p5 or just got your p5, TRY TO GET IT FREE from your dealership.
