2004 Mazda 3s Black Mica
HI, I was just wondering if anyone knows if METRA or SCOSCHE are going to come out with an install kit for the M3? I know for the Mazda 6 they could not do it because the radio and the A/C controls were all in one chassis, but I already took out my radio to look behind it and it's not all one chassis. As a matter of fact the radio seems to be two seperate chassis pieces. Anyway, any information would be appreciated. Also I wanted to know how much you thought I could get for my STOCK 17" rims because I want to replace them with 19" that are a little wider and fill the wheel well a little better. Would that detract from my ride at all?

Thanks

19" wow......why dont u just drop it and keep the 17's? better ride I think....also please put your location in your profile...19s? u get any snow?

Nah, don't get any snow in Miami. You think better ride with 17's than 19's? I don't want to lower the car cause we have a lot of speed bumps and stuff down here in Miami. Have you heard anything about a indash install kit, I'm dying to get rid of the crappy sounding factory radio on my Mazda 3s.

sry its gonna be a few before the kits come out......unless you want someone to make a custom dash for ya. I dont think the factory sounds too bad but I did put in my 12" sub this week and t makes a big difference....just upgrade everything else and save the head for last......

Also 19" might hit your tire wells going over the speed bumps......someone posted a pic with 18" rx8 rims on the 3 so find that pic and see if ya like it...

Would a custom dash kit look nice? What would they make a custom kit out of? I once saw on car audio and electronics someone put a billet aluminum custom made dash and it looked really cool.

it could be made out of a bunch of things like plain plastic or fiberglass......they could do just the radio area.......but I would call a few shops before spending the money.......also check out a import show as thats where you will find all the custom makers and lots of ideas

I was just quoted today in JR ELECTRONICS (one of the most professional shops in Miami FL) a price of $115 U.S. to do a custom dash kit just for the radio area. It would be made of ABS plastic wrapped in vinyl (black). They are really professional, I'm just afraid it might look really UNSTOCK. Then again some of those METRA dash kits look really cheesy. Do you think that is a good price, or you think I should shop around some more?

american prices not sure.....I am going to a import show on saturday so I am looking for a few things but if I come across somethign I will let ya know.

Just wanted to let you know that 19's fit with no problem. I've got 225/35/19's(+45 offset) on my 3 and there's no rubbing at all.

Thanks. What did you do with your stock rims (I have the 17's) when you changed your tires? Did you sell them?

I've got the 17's also, they're just sitting in the warehouse at work. I'll probably keep them incase I ever need them for a road trip or something.
