Mazda 3 2010 Replacing Instrument Cluster

Mazda 3 2010
Hi All,
This is my first post here.

To start off, I upgraded my mazda 3 2010 16" rims to 17" Enkei EDR9's.

Since I did this, the tire pressure monitoring system light went on in my instrument cluster. I took out the entire instrument cluster and unsoldered the LED from the motherboard.
I have pictures along the way if anyone is interested.

The problem came in when I tried getting the gauge needles out. I didn't know they slid straight out and I twisted them like screws and loosened the wrapping coil on the reverse side of the motherboard making it impossible to recalibrate them correctly.

I bought an ENTIRE instrument cluster to replace mine but when I plug it in, the security light flashes and my car ignition is locked (I can't start my car).

After hours of research, I believe what needs to happen is my PCM ID in my HEC needs to be paired with the key in my computer.

Is anyone familiar with doing this?

My mazda dealer doesn't have the tool (they claim). I've been calling every auto store around and I finally found a guy that will unsolder the flash chip fromt eh original and solder it into my new instrument cluster motherboard...
SKETCHY AS HELL.

Any ideas?

Anyway, here's my car and some instrument cluster images:

EDITED: Mazda's gauge needles are in a mechanism that breaks when you pull the needles out, making it impossible to get to the mechanics of your motherboard, unless you have a mazda 3 SPEED.

They broke when I tried unscrewing my air valve caps on my original rims.

Either way I was able to get the cluster paired with my car.

I had a specialist unsolder both micro chips with the data and swapped them. Worked like a charm.
This is the chip:

Bumping an old thread, I know. I'm interested in doing something similar on my 2008 sedan, as I also broke the gauge needles during disassembly of the cluster. I'm unsure how to determine which chip(s) on my cluster would need to be swapped onto the new cluster. On my cluster there are two small flash memory chips near the odometer LCD screen. I could swap them both, but I'm not even sure if either one stores the VIN/odometer info needed to be switched over.

Can you tell me how you removed the instrument cluster? I found the two screws at the bottom by the steering column, but when I tug on the whole thing, it feels like something at the top is holding it pretty firmly. Thought I better check before I just yank it out and break something. I thought maybe I need to remove the plastic section towards the windshield, but I can't get that out either.
