I bet it was bad route notes from the rally organizer. I have seen something like this happen a few years ago locally. The corner was a slow 90 degree corner but the note had it at a fast corner, it was basically running into a dirt embankment and there were several heavily damaged cars from it.

One of the Cusco JRT people had it posted with since there are two of the protons they run in that pile. I figured it would be fun since there were a pair of 2s in there.
