Maybe im an Idiot......

Ok correct me if I am wrong but we (MSP Owners) have the same wheel bolt pattern as the Rx7,,,,....???? Does anyone have the offsets...??? If so finding a new set of wheels just got easier... Sorry for the Bright light that just started flahing above my head,, Or if this has been spoken of before.. Its just that I just realized it... And with the same bolt pattern comes easier to find brake upgrades and with that ..... Ok i'll definately stop now..

wait, r u sure?

does anyone have the offset numbers for both, i'm interested.........

the bolt pattern is the same but the offsets are totally different...the stock FD has an offset of 50 i think the MSP is somewhere arount 42??

so that means that the tires would rub against the springs, right?

I don't know what the bolt pattern is of the RSX .... but I think the MSP's offset is 45mm. Not positive on that though.

But brake systems would be virtually interchangeable.(Give or take a few parts).. and the offset problem is easy to overcome..

Sorry guess I was just thinking to much.. Center bore on the RX7 is different.. as well as offset.. Meaning the hole in the center of the wheel is actually larger than that of the protege... but it still might be able to be worked with someone selling a non stock rim.. other problem is width.. 9 Inch is just a tad  to big.. and with a 50mm offset to a 45 offset it would not work.... I dont think.. In a 7.5 to 8 inch maybe... but with the offset the wheel will be basically a 1/4 inch farther in and without me measuring (yeah it might hit the springs).. Brakes in theory would work except the hat may dip into the steering arm territory causing a not so pleasant noise and or tow home.... But im an idiot so im going to try and see what I can do..

(Wasnt there somone on here with a Rx7 and a MSP..?)

Heh he, I guess I can quote myself. I saw in another thread that "cbcbd" says the offset for the MSP's rims are 50mm. It's more likely he is correct and I'm wrong. Just wanted to make this clear before anybody put any faith into what I said.

MSP offset of the stock Racing Harts is +55mm; 17x7 wheel stock; bolt pattern is 5 x 114.3; hubcentric ring should be 67.1mm, but this can be a replaceable ring for aftermarket rims.

You're Welcome!
