Max HP of a SSAFC

Hi all, first of all sorry if my english is not really good im a french canadian!

I want to figure out what kind of max power can i do with a ssafc considering that i'm forged. I will be upgrading to megasquirt but for now im short on money mainly because of the build :P

So i think i already saw somewhere that the ssafc got a 15psi map sensor so can i go to 15psi( max of the stock turbo too i think) or this is not good with some boost pike over 15psi?( i got a EBC with some minor spike, maybe 1 psi)
Do timing will be an issue assuming 15psi is doable? 91 fuel still Ok or i would need 94?

i already had all the supporting mods, ssafc.

Pistons and rods are in the trunk waiting for the install.

Thank you.

I ran 14psi with stock fuel injectors and supporting mods with the SSAFC. No problems. Car hauled ass and the tune was dead on.
Never had any lean spiking issues or anything. I would turn it to 14psi and leave it there until you have time to beef up your transmission.

The few times I actually got on it with 14psi really ****** up my transmission, but I have 230k miles on the car and trans

You are able to keep good afr ratio with the stock injectors? 14psi seems a lot on stock injectors. i have 440cc waiting to be install after the build.

did you street tune the ssafc or on the dyno? i will need to find a good basemap with 440cc or maybe try with my stock injectors like you.

How much whp do you think you have?

There used to be an active member slo3.5 that put down 250 or so. If you look in the SSAFC tuning thread you should come across some of his post with a base map as well as others to use for your particular setup.

and the duty cycle at 14psi on a built motor with stock 280cc injectors is..not safe by a long shot.

pretty retarded to risk a built motor to a set of stock injectors. dont be cheap and at least use 440s (which arent even that big lol).

i already have RC 440cc waiting to be installed so i will use it for sure. What is the max psi that can take the ssafc? is it 15? and the stock turbo too i think its 15psi so an issue with timing?

Pistons are arias 8.5:1 so i think i'll be Ok and dont have any detonation.

I'm pretty sure the SSAFC's max boost is 15 psi, while the stock GT25 turbos max out between 16-18psi. The turbos aren't limited by timing just by their size.

The SSAFC can only control up to 16psi, If you get the SSFTC then you can go higher because it comes with a higher rated internal MAP sensor,
not sure what the limit is on that one though. and yea the duty cycle on the stock injectors was pretty close to 100% at 14psi im sure, but I never had a lean issue when I was running stock turbo/stock injectors.

I heard bad things about the SSFTC, which is why I settled for the AFC. I really wanted timing control but read about a lot of people not being able to get the FTC to work.

I know of two MSPs personally that have had issues with the SSFTC. One car actually got slower.

On my car I had great results with the SSAFC, and would reccomend it to anyone on the other hand.

I was all about having the SSFTC and controlling the timing until I actually looked into it...
Hopefully my SSAFC will be here tomorrow!

Hello. But the FTC from split sec is specifically for the msp and does the same as the afc plus it retards timing. Wouldn't I need to retard timing if boosting more than stock. When would I advance timing? Just asking because I don't know. Thanks
