So the sticky say 2 7/8", though numerous posts have made references to using spacers to mount a deeper one. Does the window interfere? What have you mounted?

If you mount a speaker that has a 2 7/8" mounting depth directly to the shell of the car, it will just clear the window as it rolls down. If you have a deeper speaker, you can pull it away from the window by mounting it on a 1/2" to 3/4" ring made of wood, plastic, or metal. MDF is a common material used but it tends to absorb water. People have good luck using cheap plastic cutting boards too.

Hello,
It's actually not mine. It's a friends daughter's that I'm installing a speaker, amp and head unit in. I've been on Crutchfield and I can't seem to get any info from there or anywhere else in regards to the front speaker depth. I know it's limited due to the window when you roll it down. As far as how she likes it, she likes it pretty well. And there's a surprisingly a lot of space on the inside. The only problem she has had besides the stock speaker system more or less being a piece of junk is that she loose's about 1/4 of a quart of oil from the engine every month. There's no sign of leaks anywhere on the engine, the torque converter, or the coolant and there's no oil on the spark plugs so we have no idea where the oil is going.

Good Luck!!

Hello,
Anything over about 2.5 inches is going to be tough. You'll need a spacer/adapter and if the depth is over 2.5 inches your spacer will have to be over an inch, which will cause interference with the door panel. So use something shallower if you can.

good luck!!
