Yes, that is interesting. I've never seen a PD, DMV, DOT or State using sound equipment, ever in my life in any state. In practice it's a subjective call. When I was pulled over it was a document check on a holiday weekend, basically a DUI roadblock. It was a DMV guy who called my pipes into question. Said "No Mufflers" I argued they were, he called them "Pinched Pipes" They do look like they're just pinched, but they're chambered. They fit the description of a muffler as in the link posted by therieldeal.

chuyler1 - Cars are better, and you drive one of them. I get 28mpg Hwy at 80 mph in the MSP6. 400HP Vettes get 25 Hwy. My 74 Vette, when it only had 195Hp got 10mpg at 55mph going down a hill, and my 66 Coronet 383 got about 7. So, what's to snap out of?
