I doubt it's fake, because I saw on the website that the price starts at 28K!!!! Ridiculous if you ask me. There's a guy that owns one, new tags, across from where I work and I noticed it. It looks nice but there is no way I'd pay almost 30K for that car. Anyway, after seeing it I went to the Mitsubishi website to check out the price and it does start at 28!!!

Wow, I just noticed the 20K markup to 50K, I feel dumb!! Guess I wasn't reading right. No way I'd pay that for an EVO, but like I said before I wouldn't even pay 30K!!!! I would say it was fake, but it practically looks real! Anyway, just wanted to add my remarks after stupidly missing what ya'll were saying!!! DOH!!

It is real. I post on the boards at evolutionm.net They have a listing of dealers they are blacklisting (is that the right term) for huge markups. Of course some dumbass people are still going to buy the s***.

They also have a listing of dealers promising to sell at MSRP.

Yeah they are on carck. Never buy a car like that when it 1st comes out for THIS reason.

The dealers are stupid. The EVO is not a limited prod car...Mitsu has already stated that they will make as many as they can sell.

If the dealers keep that up...the EVO will go the way of the 300ZX, RX-7 and Supras...non-existant because they were too expensive.

Oh well...

They could price it at $100,000. If nobody pays it, they'll reduce it. Pretty simple supply and demand. God bless 'em if some idiot pays $50,000. The next day it's worth maybe $28K....

I can sort of confirm it. I went to the Mitsu stealership today in Davis after dinner and they had only one EVO. Their mark-up was 10,000. I didn't bother agueing with them because I had no intention of buying it, and they didn't seem to care that I was there to see it. Usually they hound the s*** out of you and ask if you would like to finance. Unbelievable, a production run car with that kind of mark-up. How will they ever compete with the WRX if they do that. I'd rather save up the extra 5K and get a BMW M3
