Manual transmission question

2015 Mazda3i, Tech pkg, manual
I see that a fair amount of folks are getting the 3s model with the 2.5l engine. Unfortunately, it is available only with an automatic, a showstopper for me.

Has anyone here purchased the 3 Touring or Grand Touring with the 6-speed manual? How is the performance? Gas mileage? Transmission feel?

At this time I have a 2012 Civic Si. The fact that we have had lots of Mazdas and the new 3 is available in a 5-door may bring me back to the fold. I am not sure if I really need the oomph of the Si, but do not want to give up the manual transmission or own a dog.

C'mon Mazda, put a 6-speed on the 2.5! (I do not like boosted cars.)

All of the reviews have said that Mazda is going to be offering a manual transmission in the 2.5L in the future.

Yea, rumors say November for the 3s Manual. I personally bought the 3iT with the Manual gearbox and simply LOVE it! I do wish it was the larger engine for a little more oomph but I haven't had too much worries yet. Shift can be smooth for the most part and the clutch is right in the sweet spot of not being too soft or too hard. It's soft enough that it isn't gonna wear you out in a traffic jam but stiff enough to know when it is engaging.

Manual transmission for 2.5L Skyactiv-G Mazda3s is not a rumor.
Search Youtube for a bunch of related videos related for US news release and testdrive for the media.
One of the speakers mentioned it.

I'm impatiently waiting for the Diesel Mazda6 to come in this spring but may melt and get the 3 if the 2.5L manual gets here before the 6 arrives. Its a race will see which one reaches No VA 1st. hmmm

The Diesel gets very good reviews around the world.
The delay in US is due to EPA certification. It is coming early next year. (Jan is what I heard)
