Manual Transmission issue - dropping out of third

My transmission shifter pops out of third. For the longest time, I thought I was lazily shifting into third and not fully engaging it, but this morning I deliberately and conciously shifted all the way into 3rd at one point and it still happened a few seconds later.

It only does if if I'm going up an incline, I've pretty much memorized where it happens on my commute at this point.

Should I change the tranny oil or take it in to the dealer right away?

Of course you should take it to the dealer (Why would you change the fluid?(hand)). Sounds like the shift fork needs adjusting.

Talk to your dealership, and if they cannot help, contact Mazda directly. I've heard of this occurring, literally exactly as you describe in 3rd gear, but it is extremely rare...rare to the point that Mazda will likely replace your transmission and ship it to Japan for more testing.
