Ok so I know I need to get 75-90 or 80-90 oil and it appears to require 2.9 quarts. What brands are ok? I also hear that we need to stick with cl4 and not 5 classification.
I have a 99 1.6 manual

I'd say any of the major brands make good lubes (Quaker, Pennsoil, Mobil, Valvolene, etc), but if you want the best, look into Amsoil synthetic. You'd probably not ever have to change it again.

Do you have the service manual? I downloaded a bunch from floptical.net and go by what is specified within.

I've heard that MT-90 from redline is pretty good. You may want to look into that one. One of the members on here is an AMM for JSC the store that is a distributor. I've been wanting to change mine for awhile.
