This thread explain how to disable the drl. With the shematics you will be able to figure out how to "always drl" and solve your problem.... You could also try to include a latching relay to avoid starting your engine with drl on... like probably every AT owner (lol2)

Also, disabling the DRL is illegal and will not pass inspection in Canada.

There are ways around that though. My DRL's are disabled and I haven't failed an inspection yet. I put mine on a switch so when i go for my MVI I simply flick a switch and my DRL's are working like stock.

As for the OP's question I'm not sure of a way around this and like the other don't really understand the need but you could look at the wiring schematics for the car and see if there is a way to do what you are looking at doing.
