Its listed as a 3 inch straight through design. Looks pretty good quality. Mandrel Bent tubing. Was hoping for some insight on this exhaust. Im gonna attached it to my Cobb Dp for a true TBE and I think it would be a pretty decent set-up. Any imput would be nice. Thank you :)

Magnaflow makes very high quality stuff. I like their products and even put one of their tips on my stock CBE. I don't know how their CBE will sound with your DP. Hopefully sweet.

I would not expect you to to see much power gain, however, so consider your change to be for sound. You probably already know this.

The stock CBE flows very well -- better than the cfm flow rate of the exhaust side of the stock turbo. When the exhaust already flows better than max turbo exhaust flow, there's no performance benefit in opening it up more. You already fixed the restriction - the DP and low flow cats.

Thanks..Yeah I have heard over and over again that the stock ms3 exhaust flows very good. I agree..and I also agree that the gains from catback is not as much compared to other cars..BUT..surgeline tuning says it will open up your higher rpm power..and when tuning the car it broadens the torque curve fairly well. I think you benefit with the larger 3in exhaust when your running the ap and tuning is available..where just simple bolt on power isnt so much. One thing for sure..when your bolting on the cobb downpipe to the stock exhaust,it looks very tiny and you just cant help think bottleneck lol.

I don't think a tune can make the K04 turbo flow more exhaust. It maxes out at 5,500 to 5,700 rpm and then power just falls and the turbo becomes a heat engine after 6,000. Nor more flow, lower power but climbing temps, as I understand it.

But more flow capability for later mods (bigger or re-worked turbo) is always a good thing to have in place, especially if it comes along with a sound you like.

I totaly understand where your comming from..but ive seen the dyno graphs firsthand on surgelines computer..and having a 3in exhaust to go along with the dp vs dp only does open up the power curve. But yeah that little k04 can only throw so much exhaust down the pipe..and the stock exhaust does a decent job on letting that exhaust gases flow. The common rule of thumb for us ms3 owners is to open it up via downpipe and then were good to go..which is extremly true...but when your standing in one of the best ms3 tuners shops in the country and thier dyno computer is staring you at your face and your seeing numbers of downpipe vs full tbe..you gotta admit it certainly helps! :).........anyways thanks for the info on the magnaflow..they been doing exhausts for long time for sure...ill prabaly end up leaving it stock and my last powermod will be a aftermarket intercooler and that new turbosmart recirc bpv..then off for custom tune.

Modest suggestion: Go for the custom tune. See what the numbers are.

Then ask them to dyno again with the CBE temporarily disconnected from the DP/RP. Maybe they will see a gain or at least see something in the data to suggest a benefit in upgrading to a 3 inch CBE and a tweaking of the tune. I'm skeptical, though, based on the flow rate of the stock K04 turbo.

Lol yeah I dont know MSMS3...I changed my mind anyways on the catback..figure ive spent enough money on power mods..Custom tune is the only thing left..Think ill be around 280 whp and frankly thats enough for this fwd daily driver... Im gonna get wider-nicer wheels and stickier tires and a rsb and springs and shifter bushings and call it good.
