M2 Sport - Idle Speed..

Hello All,

I am now the proud owner of a 2009 M2 Sport (cool) - looking forward to joining in the discussion around here for a bit.

Just wondering if anyone could let me know the speed their engine Idles at (warm engine). Mine drops right down to 500 RMP, there's no constant fluctuation so I don't think there's a problem, but it does feel a little too low.

Just wondered if anyone can help me out with their experiences.

Cheers,

I have a neighbor with a 2 automatic and the idle drops down to 500 as well.

My manual idles above that I believe, will confirm later.

My 2 idles at around 600-700 I don't think 500 should be an issue unless the car is shaking a lot at idle like it's about to die.

My car, an automatic, with so much done to it usually settles down to about 8-900 rpms. maybe 700 if he really idles for awhile. But before the header he did used to sit at about 6-700. I wouldn't be worried about it. =) just enjoy how quiet the car gets...you may forget it's even on!

I did and it is really awesome. I love it =) it added a nice amount of response to the car, it stops the whole "do I really want to go?" thing and just goes.

2011 M2 Touring Automatic here. After driving a bit it idles to about 500rpms, maybe 600. When i turn the car on it idles to 1500 and warms up to 1000 in about a minute. When in gear it drops to 500.
