i searched and didnt find exactly what i wanted, but i want a write up of how they took off the badges and cut or broke them into the M style badge.
Thanks in advance.

rear badge has two pins...and adhesive. pull that s*** off yo. use fishing line if you need to. be careful.
the front emblem is held on by clips. unclip that s*** from the back yo
cutting that s*** requires a dremel i suppose. i haven't done that, so i really dk

^^^^^ thats a lot of s*** :)

The front badge blacked out looks kind of goofy imo. As for the back the flying M is help in by clips. Use hair dryer or heat gun and slide fishing line around to get the glue seperated. The 2 pins are located behind the top of each side of the M symbol. Slide fishing line behind it and pull!! Takes a bit of pulling to get it off. As for the cutting their are a bunch of ways you can do it. Its just cheap plastic so you could cut it using pretty much anything.

If you use a heat gun be careful not to get too close to the emblem cause it will start wrinkling.

Those are held together with just the adhesive 3m stuff, no clips if I am not mistaken.

Yep the mazdaspeed 3 emblem is glued on. Fishing line it and use goof off to remove excess glue.

I would be careful using goof off. I would advise against it infact. I would try windex or something first. Goof off contains Xylene. Xylene is a very powerful solvent, and will strip latex/acylic as well as oil based paint products. Having worked with goof off and xylene for several years on my past job, I would not put either on my car.

My fear isn't that would take the paint of, but it could cause ghosting or a dull spot in your gloss finish. If you scrub hard enough though, it could be worse.

Yeah good point peter. MY comment was poorly worded. I meant use a little goof off to remove the last little bit of glue. Stuff is pretty hard to get off. I used windex which didnt do much. Basically used my nails to peel it off slowly.
